Morlen Sinoway's Bronze Vessels

We are proud to finally introduce a new series of Bronze Vessels by Morlen Sinoway.  Please take a peak at the animated GIF to understand the design behind this series. Morlen's artist statement can be found below.

Artist statement

Using ceramics to convey architectural intent, I have created “Totems” to
imply architecture. My “Architecture” is influenced by the past, present, and the
future. They are reminiscent of Babylon, in the past, influenced by the raw
concrete material and shapes used by Bertrand Goldberg in Chicago and Paolo
Soleri the architect of Acrosanti in the Arizona Desert. The vessel objects are
modular, providing options and choice. The future is THE FUTURE. Future
architecture will be choice…

I am in awe of Surrealism, DADA, the Fluxus, Design, and Architecture. We are
all unique, we are all ordinary, imperfections are intentional and beautiful!

THE PURPOSE

When the objects are either joined individually side by side or in “Totem” form,
then combined together, they are intended to create a formal “Urban
Architectural Landscape”, a city of structures if you will, that are meant to be
played with…

They are playful and fun! The spectator is the Architect, the manipulator, and
the city planner. They are scale less. Change is good!

Learn more about Erik Jørgensen

Morlen Sinoway

Here at MORLEN SINOWAY we want to make sure you know our product variety and brands well. Today, we'd like to make you more familiar with Erik Jørgensen from Denmark.

Today, Erik Jørgensen is a second generation, family-owned manufacturer continuing their founder's legacy. It continues to take a great amount of craftsmanship to upholster each of their designs perfectly. In some cases, up to 8 hours to finish a single chair.

We think this quote from their website sums their collection up perfectly - "At Erik Jørgensen, we strive to create furniture that lasts. Not just in terms of holding up to everyday use but also in its continued ability to enhance our surroundings and open our eyes to new ways of seeing and producing furniture."

Above, we have featured their Global modular seating elements. A nice selection of these were just installed at the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. Designed in 2013, these Global seating modules can be linked together in many configurations and upholstered in a variety of materials to create customized seating groupings for large lobbies and wide corridors.

Quality does tend to cost more, but don't let that scare you away. Spend a little more today and keep them for a lifetime. These are the things that absolutely do get better with age. You will find a selection of pieces from Erik Jørgensen below, along with some starting pricing. We hope that you find some of them inspiring for your next project.
